Brochure for the Color Enthusiast : The Swedes do it right again…

lapland1

I admired this brochure that I saw throughout Northern Sweden, with a bold / different layout on every page.  It was created by (?) and for Swedish Lapland at www.swedishlapland.com .  I adore how the brochure assumes that everyone is a color-enthusiast and why not, a designer at heart.  I believe it.

And yes, Swedish Lapland is this beautiful.

Off Topic : Kungsleden Hiking Trail, Northeastern Sweden, Stockholm

If I were a Sami, I'd be proud.

Here are my reflections from our trip to Sweden (June 24th to July 9th). In general, we are two girls with two major discrepancies : we like nature and we like to eat.

The mainstay of our trip was our 7 day trek on the Kungsleden hiking trail.   Although we adored Stockholm, our voyage was not one for the urbanite and everything we packed, we had to carry in our 50 litre backpacks.  My reflections are all subject to the conditions of time and (perhaps) luck.  As always, the experience could vary for anyone depending on their time and their perspective.

Google Map place markers : Looking for solutions…

I am looking for examples of efficient / inventive Google Map symbols / place markers… and I’m wondering if a library / archive already exists.  I found “Making Maps: DIY Cartography”, as well as “Google Earth: the basics of creating placemarks.”  I am fluctuating between the 3-dimensional rounded “pin” or the flat “bubble” pin (does it have a name?) . In any case, I am thinking if the pin itself is not 3D,  the shadow is key.

If anyone knows of a good ressource, let me know !
